 » Our History

Our Mission Statement
Our company is to provide our customer with the industry's best value in brake products, provide our employees with a safe and secure workplace, and to maintain a reputation in the marketplace so we can enjoy uncompromising integrity, outstanding dependability and do what we say we will do.

Our Goals
Our company goals are to produce the highest quality products possible,
continue the quest for additional market penetration,
and meet or exceed sales and profit objectives.

We must demonstrate a willingness to take risks in product development and manufacturing methods, try new ideas in distribution and in customer care.

Satisfied customers are essential to our goal accomplishments.

1959 Started in a one-car garage, right next to Inwood Park in downtown Cincinnati, Inwood begins to rebuild clutch components for passenger vehicles. Created out of necessity by the Osterbrock family, Inwood's only customer was Osterbrock Parts Warehouse and it's chain of Valley Auto Parts stores. And, as the automotive aftermarket evolved and the opportunity presented itself, within a few years of its inception, Inwood expanded into remanufacturing brake shoes as well.
1972 As disc brake systems become more prevalent on automotive original equipment, Inwood Automotive begins to assemble and market disc brake pads for aftermarket use.
1988 The Osterbrock family sells Inwood Automotive Products to Gil and Gail Pulliam.
1994 Inwood Automotive departs from two buildings on Gest Street to a single building, further north, at 2530 Spring Grove Avenue. This 80,000 square foot facility consolidates manufacturing, warehousing and distribution.
1997 Inwood purchases the assets of GroupSix, based out of Deland, Florida.
1999 Michel Tire, a subsidiary of Morgan Tire, presents Inwood Automotive with their "Vendor of the Year" award.
2003 Inwood purchases the assets of Praefke Brake and Supply, based out of West Bend, Wisconsin, from the Praefke family.
Today Today, Inwood Automotive Products ships products, which include disc brake pads and drum brake shoes throughout 48 states or provinces in the United States and Canada. We have gone to great lengths in the last few years to improve the machinery, tooling and computer systems at this location. New shot blasters, Universal and Orbital riveters, and EDI capabilities and Internet communications were all installed recently.
